Mrs Cole stopped off at Subway yesterday after a cinema date with Hough to see Angelina Jolie’s new film Salt.

She said if the Dancing With The Stars professional hadn’t insisteddoctors give her a blood test, she could have died from malaria.

She is quoted by the Sunday Mirror as telling a friend: ‘I thought I had a bad case of flu and everyone else agreed.

‘I was even told to stay at home and get some rest. The doctors were so certain it was not serious and I believed them.’

It was only after Hough’s insistence that she should have a bloodtest that doctors discovered Cole was suffering from malaria andrequired urgent treatment.

Cole is believed to have contracted the potentially deadly diseasewhile on holiday with Hough in Tanzania in June, which led the 25-year-old toblame himself for her illness.

Thepair are currently enjoying a month-long holiday in Los Angeles,staying in a villa at West Hollywood’s Sunset Marquis Hotel whileCole finishes work on her second solo album.

But in anattempt to escape press attention while she is in the U.S. city, Cherylhas been using the name Lily English in a bid to remain inconspicuous.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Cheryl is considering starring on U.S. TV talent show Dancing With The Stars.

The singer is said to be ‘intrigued’ bythe idea of teaming up with Derek, a professionalballroom dancer and one of the stars of the hit television show.

A source from the show told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Cheryl has been approached to take part in the next season of the show.

‘Sheis planning to take meetings about it while she is in LA and has saidshe is intrigued by the idea and wants to find out more.

Earlier this year she admitted she would ‘love’ to be a judge on the new U.S. X Factor, but wasn’t optimistic it would happen.

She said: ‘They don’t know me out there and I’ve got this weird accent. I love the thought of it and would love to do it.

‘Thetalent out there is phenomenal but whether they would want me isanother thing. I don’t think they would get a buzz off me.’
