CHILDREN at Dunster first School proved they have plenty of puff after completing their annual Health and Fitness week.

from March 22 to 26, children and adults took part in a number of activities and lessons designed to promote healthy living.

all year groups enjoyed walks during the week, with Reception and Year 4 children strolling to Conygar Tower, Year 1 and 2 learners walking to the Giant’s Chair on top of Grabbist and Year 3s hiking to Bats Castle.

Children and staff also took part in a Shake and Wake session each morning.

the Life Education Centre – a mobile classroom where children can learn about health and fitness – visited the school on two days.

Dentist mark Ruttley visited the school to talk about dental hygiene and school nurse Alison Frost spoke about healthy eating.

Year 1s also designed their own healthy salads and Year 2s some delicious guacamole and tomato dip.

Healthy School co-ordinator Lucy Hawkins said: “It was a fantastic week and the children loved participating in the various events and activities.”
