Are personal trainers a waste of money?

I need to get into shape but don't know how to use the machines at the gym to properly build muscle and lower my body fat percentage. I don't know how else to do it besides hire a personal trainer. Are they a waste of money? How much does a trainer usually cost? How can I burn body fat on my own? will Pilates work? Someone please help! 10 points!

i would try looking up some routines online before spending the money, unless their is a membership that includes a trainer, which a lot don't.Prices vary.Pilates is not for burning fat,it's for toning.one good way to build muscle is to go to a GMC or a similar store and buy protein shakes.

Yes, basically you pay them to count reps. you dont even need the gym to get in good shape. you just need some dumbells, a weighted vest and maybe a treadmill if you dont like running outside. you can find every exercise ever created online with the proper technique.

personal trainers are never a waste of money as long as you do what they tell you to do. every type of diet, training exercises, and workout program work. as long as you have a commitment to them.
the best way to lose weight is through your metabolism. your metabolism is basically your heart rate and the higher your heart rate the faster you burn calories. check out this website for some tips on dieting, metabolism and much more.

I have a personal trainer and love working with her! she has really helped turn my body around (I have lost 11 lbs in 5 1/2 weeks and have toned up too). What is better is that they are helpful in figuring out how to balance out your muscles, will give you nutrition help, and give you "homework" for your days you are not working with them. They will also push you and motivate you when you cannot motivate yourself. Another great thing about a personal trainer is that when you plateau in your workouts, they will know how to tweak it. Sometimes you can go through a few trainers before you find the right one. When you find one that works for your needs however, you will realize that it is worth every penny. even if you only use the trainer to get started or for for 6-12 weeks.

YES and NO.

At least in most cases, except for people with thyroid problems or other medical conditions, any weight loss program that has exercises and proper diet as a basis, will make you lose weight.

Personal trainers are effective but expensive and only if you can afford it should you hire one.

Besides you don't need to go to a gym to burn body fat.

I lost 20 Kgs in 4 months just doing regular free style exercises, swimming, speed walking, walking up and down stairs, and of course a low carb diet.

Remember that no weight loss program will work if you lack dedication and commitment.

All the best.

personal trainers can be a waste of time, they just focus on fitness. seek out a CHEK practitioner in your area. it is worth the time and money. People end up spending a fortune on getting skinny. you got to get healthy first.

quick tip

stop doing loads of aerobic exercise, do more weights
quit eating so many carbs, eat more fat and quality protein
