British Army – basic training, what's it like behind all the training?
I mean, besides the training and spending time in a small room with a bunch of lads, whats it like? What I want to know is:
I assume theres a timetable like school, but do you get time to yourself where you can leave the camp for a few hours?
I read in previous questions that its best to take a padlock for your locker, is it safe to take an ipod or would it probably be best to leave it at home?
What expenses are there during basic training?
Is there a halfway point where you can go home?
As a rough estimate, how much time do you spend in a classroom/training fitness/shooting range etc?
Are mobile phones allowed?
Are there any early hour wakeup calls to go running etc?
Are the officers screaming in your face like in the movies?
These questions are very minor I know and they arnt going to sway my decision in joining, but its nice to know what to expect!
Ill be checking back briefly..
Thanks alot for your time reading
