I am an ACE certified Personal Fitness Trainer, but I can't get a job because I don't have experience. Ideas?
I also want to learn to market myself effectively so that I can be a freelance personal trainer eventually. thanks in advance!
Bro go to the gym and sell yourself to some out of shape girls you know convince them that you can help or for that matter some babes ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Start advertising your services and offer them at a lower rate than those who are experienced. This will help you get people in the door to gain experience and get you closer to building a business.
Some cheap ways to advertise — Craigslist, word of mouth (tell your clients to refer friends and give them both a discount), flyers in sporting stores or other places that focus on appearance (tanning salons, hair salons, spas, etc.) and as hand outs on the street, signage on your vehicle, or small display ads in smaller market publications (think suburban newspapers versus the main metro publication).
Do some freelance work. Post ads, go on craigslist, etc.
Do some volunteer – maybe call a local rec center and offer to teach 1 free fitness class a week for a month or two – you'll get great references, experience, and community service is always good for business. call it "Summer ShapeUp" "Hot for the Holidays" or something.
Talk to local businesses about offering classes to their students for free or a low rate. I work with a modeling agency, and we're always looking for people to come in and train our models on make, hair, fitness, etc.
