I want to cancel a personal training contract with Premier Fitness and they say I can't?

I signed up for 40 personal training sessions at Premier Fitness. I've used up 19 of them, and the trainer I was going to has cut back his hours, and last week he just dumped me off onto a new trainer at the gym without warning, or discussing it with me first. he wasn't able to schedule me adequately any more (he was cancelling at the last minute, etc.). he didn't inform me he was switching me to someone else until the day of, and he told me he would be there at my session, as well. When I got there, he wasn't there, just this new guy was. the bottom line is, I don't want to do training sessions with someone else, and I don't like the way this was handled, and I want to cancel my contract for the training sessions, but the manager says I can't. is there anything I can do? the only reason I signed up for so many sessions was because this trainer outlined a plan to help me lose weight, and this was the number of sessions he calculated I would need. it sounded great at the time, but now that it's someone else I'm going to have to work with, I don't want to do it any more.

My wife is going through the same issue. They keep taking money even though she's spent months trying to cancel the service. They had her calling all these numbers and waiting for call backs that never came.

It's sort of a gimmick to ensure that they get paid. Gyms and personal trainers probably make a pretty nice buck off of these sorts of situations.

She decided she was just going use the sessions, since she was paying for them, as they're not really giving her any other options. hopefully somebody else can help you better than I

Unfortunately, if you have signed a legally binding contract you won't be able to cancel unless you move away or are disabled. from the companies view you are paying for a service and not any one particular person. I would suggest you at least give the new trainer a chance. Also, for future reference, if you ever sign another legally binding contract, review carefully stipulations for cancelling. for example you can have them add to the agreement an option to cancel should the trainer become unable to provide you the service. good luck!
