I run a personal training business/boot camp out of a gym in NC. I pay the gym a percentage of what I bring in…a big percentage 50%. I gross over $5,000 a month and pay them over $2,500. The owner of the gym is also a Martial Arts instructor there and teaches the class (Muay Thai) that my wife and I have been in for over a year. We have been married for a year and a half. The owner has been instructing my wife one-on-one for a few months training her to fight and we have all become very close over the past year. I found out that she cheated on me with the owner. obviously I am pissed. Someone told me that you can sue the third party for adultery, is this true? I was told I would have a very good case because it not only ruined my marriage but it ruined my business as I can no longer run my classes out of the gym that is owned by the person who effed my wife.

So, can I sue the third party for adultery and take his business?

Thank you so much for any responses, I'm obviously devastated over the loss of basically my entire life so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Some states, and yes NC is one of them that have had successful cases who have won. It's called Alienation of Affection. you need to hire a lawyer.

Been there. I understand you're angry. I opted for talking and I started again, since it was only one time and my husband's behaviour has improved.

Can you forgive her? Do you see the possibility of a clean future? you know, you should try to be different from her. show her that she's the bad one, not you. By doing all this legal stuff – which is your way of taking revenge – you're only showing her that you can be an asshole too. Think about that.
And she may deserve that and probably even more (to your feeling), but don't ruin your own image.

Possibly, really you should talk to a lawyer about it. There are many that offer free consultations.

In certain states you can and I believe you can in NC. I'm sorry to hear about your marriage. It hurts when someone betrays you. Try to remember everything happens for a reason. even if you can't see it now. Someone who deserves you will come along. Good luck!

Some woman was just all over the news, because she sued the woman with whom her husband cheated. She won too — got lots of money.

I don't see why a man, then, couldn't do the same.

The laws are different from state to state, of course … so at the end of the day, you should email a lawyer.
