“Girl time” took over the Boys and Girls Club recently when the Junior Auxiliary of Louisville held a summer clinic for girls.

The Summer Clinic program took place Saturday, June 26 and covered subjects from health to fashion tips. The clinic focused on young women by introducing life skills and teaching them how to take care of themselves from a health standpoint.

The program featured volunteer speakers from the community such as Becca Cummins, who gave a devotion on female modesty as well as fashion tips for the girls. Angela Stewart of Red Hills Fitness spoke on exercise and health. The Junior Auxiliary members taught the girls about preparing a basic meal with appropriate health portions for serving others, and were taught how to read food labels. The members also gave tips on taking care of their bodies. The girls were also taught basic etiquette and were able to paint flowerpots as a craft.

The speakers for the program were given candles donated by lifetime Junior Auxiliary member Amy Hillyer.
