Gym in Vero Beach will close after 17 years, to merge with another
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — after 17 years, Train to Attain inc. will close its doors Dec. 26 and be consolidated into Longevity Max Fitness of Vero Beach.
Longevity Max Fitness, a coed facility, will be honoring all memberships and will employ all trainers from Train to Attain.
Glenn Dunn, owner of Train to Attain, will become the director of the personal training program at Longevity Max, where he will continue to offer his “Dunn Deal” training structure.
“In this economy, more people should be able to join forces and work together,” said Bonnie Pfiester, who owns Longevity Max Fitness and Longevity Fitness Club & Spa for women with her husband Steve. “His niche was personal training and our niche is the fitness center and together members will have the best of both worlds,” she said of Dunn.
Dunn, in a letter to members, called it “a bittersweet decision. I have so many fond memories that I will always cherish and (I) look forward to making many more.”
Longevity Max offers a variety of equipment and services including free childcare, aerobics, kickboxing, yoga, self-defense training, Brazilian martial arts, boot camp, massage therapy, body treatments, protein smoothie bar, complimentary coffee, and free Internet hot spot.
“When everything goes that smoothly, there’s a peace about it,” said Bonnie Pfiester, “It was almost something you didn’t discuss because it was so obvious that it was perfect timing.”
Owners of both gyms say they will work to make the transition as seamless as possible.
“When one door closes, God opens another,” said Dunn. “And I am very excited to take on this new opportunity.”
According to the Pfiesters, Longevity Fitness’ Boot Camp program is preparing for national exposure in January and this consolidation will help them focus their efforts equally on both clubs along with their weight loss programs.
Longevity Max, the coed fitness center, is located at 970 14th Lane in Vero Beach. Longevity Fitness Club & Spa for women is located at 650 12th St. in Vero Beach.
